Ironworkers Endorse Ananich for State Senate

Flint, Mich. – State Representative Jim Ananich’s (D-49th District) campaign for the 27th State Senate District has picked up another endorsement with Ironworkers Local 25 making it official.  Ironworkers 25 represents skilled trades workers in Genesee and 33 other counties in Michigan.  The 27th District is vacant due to former Senator John Gleason choosing to run for Genesee County Clerk instead of finishing his State Senate term.  The special primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12th.

“The members of Ironworkers 25 are hardworking taxpayers that fight for good jobs, and I appreciate their support,” said Ananich. “Together, we'll make sure voters know we plan to stand up for Genesee County families, lead by example on reforming government, and make our communities safe places to live and work.”

"We feel you have the qualities and integrity that is needed for this position," said Michael Randick of the Ironworkers about Ananich.

The endorsement by Ironworkers 25 is the latest in a growing list of community and labor groups supporting Ananich's bid for the State Senate that includes the Genesee/Shiawassee/Lapeer Building Trades, the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters, Teamsters Local 332, and CAGO – Citizens Against Government Overreach. Additional endorsements will be announced soon.
