Back Ananich for State Senate

Cite his “qualities and integrity” for unanimous endorsement

Flint, Mich. - The Genesee/Lapeer/Shiawassee Building Trades Council has voted unanimously to support State Representative Jim Ananich (D-49th District) in the special election for the 27th District State Senate seat. Former State Senator John Gleason was sworn in last week as the Genesee County Clerk and the Governor is expected to announce the special election to replace him at any time.

Ironworkers Local 25, a member of the GLS Building Trades Council, wrote “we feel that you (Ananich) have the qualities and integrity that is needed for this position.”

“The hardworking men and women of this community helped build our middle-class, and they will be the ones to turn our economy around,” said Ananich. “I appreciate their support and look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with them in the fight for more jobs and stronger communities.”

Ananich was first elected to the State House in 2010 and taught in Genesee County public schools. His current House District includes portions of Flint, Flint Township, Swartz Creek, Flushing, Mt. Morris and Mt. Morris Township. The 27th State Senate District is comprised of Argentine, Clayton, Fenton, Flint, Flushing, Gaines, Genesee, Montrose and Mundy Townships as well as the cities of Fenton, Flint, Flushing, Linden, Montrose, and Swartz Creek.
